The concept of Meditative Movement (MM) as a category of exercise will be presented (published and oft-cited), as an overarching construct that helps us better define, deconstruct, and study the effects of practices that incorporate the body, the breath, and a meditative state (e.g., Qigong, Yoga, Tai Chi). Linda will lead the group through the experience of Qigong to share how QG is a core MM practice, and will review the impact that this conceptualization of the key components has had on the body of research. As an interactive presentation there will be lots of fun, side trips, and mysteries discussed, taking into account the ways of assessing flow, HRV, and the biofield in research.
