Today’s Qi Talks will discuss the relationship of the management of emotions and qigong practice.
Many qigong enthusiasts focus heavily on the physical practices but overlook the importance of the management of emotions. indeed, as a form of inward seeking practice to keep the mind inside the body, qigong is a powerful tool to "detach and remain in absolute calmness" and it is also one of the major factors why qigong is an effective self-healing practice. Based in Penang, Malaysia, Ooi Kean Hin is a full-time Qigong and Therapeutic Massage Therapist, herbalist, consciousness researcher, author of books on Qigong and the Dao De Jing – the science, practice & theory, founder of Information Therapy, and a registered pharmacist. All his books are available on Amazon. He has published several consciousness research articles in peer-reviewed journals and was an editorial member of the Journal of Nonlocality from 2013 to 2018.
He started practicing Zhineng Qigong in 1997; teaching and providing healing services in 1999; teaching in Europe in 2005; and teaching online in 2012. In 2011, he initiated the development of the National Occupational Skill Standard for Qigong Therapy by convincing the Malaysia Ministry of Health with client testimonials verified by medical doctors. Subsequently, he was appointed the Industry Expert and verification officer of qigong therapy. Currently, he is the secretary of the Malaysia Qigong Therapy Society where only certified qigong practitioners are admitted as members.
