Welcome to the
National Qigong (Chi Kung) Association
The
National Qigong Association is the premier membership
organization
for qigong. We are an umbrella for all groups, schools, enthusiasts.
Western or Eastern. Ancient or Modern.
We are the primary
group for
networking and coordinating students, teachers, supporters and
professionals.
We support scientific
endeavors as the benefits of Qigong are researched, documented,
published.
We are innovative
with our use
of the web, podcasts and our sharing of all types of qigong
information.
The NQA does not
support any
one person or Qigong style. We are a democratic 501c3 tax exempt
organization.
We are not just a
list of
people or a set of classes, we are a COMMUNITY.
Be a part of the Qi
Flow and
the Qi Excitement that is moving through our country.
Our Mission: Enhancing
and nourishing the quality of life through Qigong for all.
WAVES OF QI!
The
2009 conference at Asilomar was by all accounts a resounding success. It was also restorative, rejuvenating, AND
relaxing. Thank you so
much to all who made it happen including the events committee, the
keynote speakers, all the presenters and vendors, Ali Wolf, and most of
all, you, our members and supporters!

In
Memory
of Janet
Sullivan
We
regretfully share with you the sad news that our NQA President, Janet
Sullivan, drew her last breath of Qi at around 10:10 am (CST),
Thursday, December 4th, 2008, in the presence of her son Ben and
daughter Shelli in Dallas, Texas. Her passing was peaceful.
National
Expert Meeting on Qigong & Tai Chi - Consensus Report
Through
funding from the Archstone Foundation, the National Blueprint Office at
the University of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign, the National Council on Aging, and the Institute
of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi convened an expert meeting in which the
above Consensus Report was produced. This report highlights the
challenges of integrating Qigong and Tai Chi programs into the aging
network and identifies the necessary components of an effective program
to meet the needs of diverse populations with varying functional
abilities.
"There was a broad consensus that Qi Gong
and Tai Chi programs provide numerous physical and
psychological health benefits and contribute to the well-being of those
who participate regularly.
Research has shown that Qi Gong and Tai Chi participation reduces blood
pressure, increases
maximum oxygen consumption, increases immune function, and improves
flexibility."
